Digital Birmingham is a Birmingham City Council initiative and part of a city wide strategic partnership of more than 30 public, private and voluntary organisations
Mission Statement
"Connecting you and your city to the digital future, so that together we can achieve economic success and benefits for the way we live, learn and work."

Why Digital Birmingham?
Digital technologies are one of the major drivers of economic growth, underpinning innovation and improvement in transport, education, communication, media, healthcare and the environment.
Through the internet we can find jobs and entertainment services, keep in touch with our family, work from home or on the move and find friends and co-workers through online communities. Birmingham's future global success and quality of life will be shaped by our ability to use technology effectively and exploit the opportunities it brings.
Closing the 'digital divide' and promoting greater social inclusion will ensure that everyone in Birmingham can benefit from digital technologies, and that the city can compete globally for the trade, investment and tourism that will be central to its economic success.
The mission for 2009-10 is clear
Digital Birmingham's is committed to establishing the story of the successes and achievements, to celebrate Birmingham's digital leadership in autumn 2010. Digital technologies will continue to be harnessed to deliver council priorities and benefits for citizens and communities. The economic growth of the city will be supported by encouraging inward investment and stimulating the expansion of digital skills. Birmingham will be positioned as a leader in knowledge and learning, and prepared for the longer term impact of digital technologies on the City's plans for 2026.
