Here’s a neat little application from MySociety. HassleMe is a website where you can enter your email address, a period of time and some text to nag yourself to do something. HassleMe will then send you the nags at roughly the time periods you tell it. This means that you never quite know when you will receive the email. The theory is that this semi-randomness makes the nag more effective.
This was coded by Chris Lightfoot, a young member of MySociety who died. The team have now taken this over and have implemented the other part of HassleMe which is publishing what people are hassling themselves about and it makes for fascinating reading. Either that or I’m one sad, nosy geek.
