Broadband more popular than cigarettes and alcohol!

15th August 2008

Yes it is true, a survey undertaken by Plusnet has revealed people who already have a broadband connection at home would rather give up smoking and drinking than be without fast internet. Over half of the people interviewed were still satisfied with their current provider, but over a third would switch ISPs.

With the credit crunch lingering, the internet is a valuable tool for people to dig out bargains and cheap deals, and browse thousands of outlets from the comfort of their own home. Although some people may be struggling to pay the bills at the moment, their internet bill is one they do not seem to mind so much.

The real test would be for smokers to choose between such a habit and their internet connection, sometimes theory is not always the same as practice! It also seems quite ironic that in light of this survey, Plusnet have released a budget price broadband connection for all those people who were surveyed as being able to be swayed!
