Digital Busy-ness!
22nd April 2010
Digital Birmingham’s ‘Digital Business’ campaign, in partnership with the Birmingham Post, was set up last year to support a business to improve its standing in the community by improving its communication channels, use social networking sites to advertise and get feedback from its customers and attract new ones.
Cafelicious, located in the southern district of Rubery, is the Digital Cafe we will be supporting through this campaign, with help from social media expert and entrepreneur, Donato Esposito. The cafe had installed WiFi before the campaign started, showing its commitment to being becoming a digital business.
So, as always, Digital Birmingham want to get as many people involved as possible, and provide free advice for those businesses who need it. Therefore, Donato will be running a free social media surgery on Tuesday 27th April, for any business that wants to come along and find out more. It will give attendees a short introduction to Twitter, Facebook and blogging, and show how it can help them build their reputation and win new business.
Attendees will be able to quiz cafe owners Anna and Arif Latif about their own journey through digital and social media, featured in a series of columns in the Birmingham Post, and apply the lessons learned in their own business.
The event is free to attend but space is limited and companies are advised to register their interest beforehand. Visit http://cafelicious.eventbrite.com or call in at the cafe at 147 New Road, Rubery, to guarantee your place.
