#HD09
19th October 2009
Hello Digital is back! Birmingham’s first digital festival returns this week with its one day Business Conference - 21st October 2009 @ Millennium Point. Want your business to be more competitive in this digital world? Then you can’t miss it.
The Regional Development Agency, Advantage West Midlands (AWM), commissioned Digital Birmingham to organise this year’s Business Conference and things have moved on a lot from last year’s event.
With the worst economic downturn since the 1930s, all businesses are finding it difficult - obviously certain sectors are finding it harder than others. Therefore, the Hello Digital Partnership (consisting of AWM, Screen WM, Business Link, Digital Birmingham, Arts Council England, Birmingham City Council and the Birmingham Post) arranged for the focus of the Business Conference to help local and regional businesses with a range of technical expertise - from beginner to advanced.
There is a pick and mix element to the event, so delegates can choose a few different seminars to attend that best fits their business needs. There is an impressive line up of key note speakers, and seminar hosts including Sion Simon MP (Minister for Creative Industries), David Rowan (Editor of WIRED Magazine, UK), Jon Gisby (Director of New Media & Technology at Channel 4), Mark Browning (Commercial Director at ITN) and Thomas Dillon (Chairman of the Creative Advantage Fund).
Another innovative aspect of the day is the overseas element. There are many cities across the world that have an advanced digital agenda, and will be providing a beneficial dimension to the day. There will be a breakfast panel with Singapore, lunch with colleagues in Rome and an afternoon coffee debate across the pond in Seattle. Digital technology is essential for this international aspect of the event to take place, exampling the requirement to stay competitive in a digital world.
The website www.hellodigital.net has all the information you will need about the event and how to register. It really is going to be an invaluable day for networking, learning and educating your peers and colleagues from the world of business. Many experts across the digital, media and creative industries will be under one roof - so be a part of it!
The Hello Digital business conference e-flyer also gives more information about the event. To be a part of the after party on the evening of 21st October, organised by Screen West Midlands and South by South West, register here. As the title of this blog shows, the Twitter hashtag for the event is #HD09. If you can’t make it, make sure you follow the real-time updates from inside Millennium Point as they happen!
