If you could change one thing…

… then what would it be? Okay, I’ll narrow that down a bit: if you could remove a government-imposed obstacle to allow Birmingham City Council to help you improve the sustainability of your community, what would that be?

This is the question that the council is asking pursuant to the Sustainable Communities Act 2007. You can get full information from the council’s website; but in short, there are three criteria that a suggestion has to fulfil. It must:

• require a change in the law,
• be intended to increase the sustainability of your local community, and
• be relevant to communities in Birmingham.

Anyone can submit a suggestion: whether as an individual or a representative of a community group.

So start thinking — the deadline is 9am on Monday 13th April 2009!
