Latest broadband take up and internet use stats released

26th August 2008

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has released its latest statistics on the increase in broadband take up and which people use the internet more often.

Broadband in the home has risen by well over 2% on the last quarter in March 2008, but dial up connections have decreased by just over 20% in the same period.

It also reports that people with a degree are much more likely to have the internet and use it on a regularly basis, compared to those who do not. But the reason many people do not have the internet is just as simple as not wanting it, this is 8 times the number in 2006 (3% to 24%).
