SEO? Bless you!

I recently went on SEO training, for those who are sick of acronyms or are just curious, this stands for Search Engine Optimisation. It is a way to improve the volume and quality of traffic on the internet to your website by learning how to present your pages, and supporting web accessibility as a whole. It has a lot of similarities with online marketing, and the training will usually include overviews of how to improve your online presentation and audience engagement.

I received a manual at the training, detailing absolutely everything you would ever need to know about SEO. Trying to get my head around it all would be useless, but, together with the training, I have begun to learn how it may help us at Digital Birmingham. Not all the tricks would be beneficial, it is just a case of finding which ones work best for us.

For those who are promoting a business website or looking to start up a website, and would like to learn more about how to get in there with the best of them, I would highly recommend attending the training. SEO is a process more businesses are adopting, and yes, financial resources do help when following it to the letter. However, there are quick things anyone can do to make their websites more visible and accessible, such as changing key word searches, de-cluttering homepages so search engines can find them more quickly and ensuring all your links work.
SEO is a way of working, not just part of a “to do” list. However, if done effectively, your website and business will reap the rewards.
