As someone with an unfortunate combination of a terrible sense of direction and the complacency to assume I’ll somehow find the way (not to mention the common male trait of being reluctant to ask for directions), online maps have saved me many an hour of aimless wandering around unfamiliar areas. Any tool that helps me to spec a place out must, then, be a Good Thing. More – I can see your house from here!

Due to the worrying decay of a lot of underwater archaeological sites due to looting, trawling activity and environmental erosion, new virtual software has been produced to enable these places to be preserved for ever. It will enable anyone, regardless of deep sea diving experience, to visit sunken shipwrecks and other treasures at the bottom of the sea.

Soon enough we will be able to do everything virtually! Microsoft has introduced new digital photo software which will enable users to re-visit their holiday destinations, family celebrations or friends birthdays in a 3D virtual way where they will be able to “walk” or “fly” around their photographs in any angle.
