The European Commission has reiterated the importance of an individual’s online and technological privacy, through an online video posted by Viviane Reding’s (Commissioner for Information Society & Media) office yesterday. She forcefully reminds EU member states that all “Europeans must have the right to control how their personal information is used”.

Europe will be a broadband continent by 2010? 29/09/2008

“Access for all” is the European strapline for broadband internet, and the target is all Europeans will have it by 2010. This will be a tall order considering the digital divide that exists in so many countries especially those who will find it difficult to even afford broadband in the first place.
