WiFi at 30,000 feet

15th August 2008

Delta Airlines are working on providing Wifi broadband access to its domestic flights across the USA in the near future. For a small fee, air passengers will be connected wherever they are in transit.

Laptops, mobile phones or PDAs will be able to connect into WiFi to access the Internet, corporate VPNs, corporate and personal e-mail accounts, as well as SMS texting and instant messaging services.

So businessmen and women will no longer be able to use their plane journey as a way of catching up on some much needed shut eye, their office will be able to reach whichever US airspace they find themselves in!
