Interactive Digital Television (idTV)

Interactive Digital Television is providing a new route to access Birmingham City Council services in the comfort of your home.

Instructions on how to access these services for those that are subscribers to either Sky Digital, Virgin Media or Freeview with broadband services are provided below.

TV Keys via Miniweb:

The access path to Looking Local on Miniweb is -

  • Press the Interactive button on your SKY remote control
  • Select TV keys from the menu (option 9)
  • Enter the word 'LOCAL' with the remote control and press 'select'

Sky:
There are two ways to access Looking Local on Sky Active -

  • Press the Interactive button on your remote
  • Select SKY Active from the menu
  • Select Services
  • Select Looking Local

OR

  • Press the Interactive button on your remote
  • Select SKY Active from the menu
  • Select A-Z & More
  • Select Looking Local

Virgin TV:
There are two ways to access Looking Local on Virgin -

  • Press the Interactive button on your remote
  • Select News & Info
  • Select Looking Local

OR

  • Press the Interactive button on your remote
  • Select Your Community
  • Select Looking Local

Mobile phone:

To access Birmingham's Interactive Digital TV channel through your mobile phone, you need to type in the following url:
http://www.digitv.gov.uk/cds/birmingham/mobile/home

Nintendo Wii:

The access path for a Nintendo Wii is -

Computer:

To access through your PC you need to type in the following URL -
http://www.digitv.gov.uk/digitv/cds/Birmingham/Netgem/home

COMING SOON - The Birmingham Key

You will soon be able to access your Interactive Digital TV channel even faster by using the BHAM key.
By selecting 2426 off your remote control (BHAM) you will go straight to the Birmingham Channel.
