On the 10th Feb. Digital Birmingham is took part in Safer Internet Day.

What we did

For Schools:

Ed Gibson, Chief Cyber Security Advisor at MicrosoftWe invited Ed Gibson, Chief Cyber Security Adviser to Microsoft and ex FBI special agent to give a talk to students at Sheldon Heath Community Arts College.

Following the talk, some of the students at Sheldon Heath School asked Ed some questions around online safety as well as reviewing some of the e-safety online resources and videos available from CEOP (Thinkuknow) to help keep them safe online.

At St.John Wall Catholic School in Handsworth, some of the students did video interviews with their peers to find out more about their online habits and activities and their views on internet safety.

For Families

You can follow their exploits in the monthly Family Life section of the Evening Mail which in February will have a special feature on internet safety (more details of this to follow) or keep up to date with their digital journey through their blog at the Birmingham Mail
