Digital Britain Launch in Birmingham
17/06/2009
Digital Birmingham is organising a regional Digital Britain event on 17 June which is being hosted in Birmingham at the ICC.
This event represents the first regional launch and round table debate of the Digital Britain final report, which follows straight on the heels of its publication (16 June). The Minister, Lord Carter will be presenting his report at this event (accompanied by Tom Watson MP) and there will be considerable media activity and focus. We are still finalising the programme with Lord Carter's team in the BERR office but anticipate a speech from the Minister with questions, opportunity for press conference and a brief meeting with key local leaders.
This will be followed by lunch and then some panel sessions to discuss specific areas of the report and the implications of this for the city and region involving local and national experts.
It will be a high profile invited audience event of around 120 delegates taken from the City, organisations and key stakeholders and represents a real achievement for Birmingham in having Lord Carter attend here in person.
