WHEN builder Simon Locke's mobile phone bleeps with a new text and his 12-year-old daughter is not around, he panics.
For although the 41-year-old can read his messages, he cannot reply unless Sophie's there to do it for him.
Simon, wife Julie, aged 40, Sophie and ten-year-old Kieran, are trying out hundreds of pounds worth of digital equipment with guidance from the Birmingham Mail, in partnership with Digital Birmingham and supported by BT and the Birmingham Mail.
They'll be picking BT products, from a list worth hundreds of pounds, to set them on their way to a truly digital future.
