Interactive Digital Television is providing a new route to access Birmingham City Council services in the comfort of your home.

Subscribers to Sky Digital, Virgin Media, Freeview broadband services and those with a web-enabled iPhone, iPad and iPod, can access Birmingham''s local digital channel and use it to find jobs, report problems like graffiti and potholes, renew library books and find out about the benefits from the City Council.

Viewers can click on a number of links to over 50 information and service areas that covers jobs, bus and train travel information as well as a trial GP appointment booking facility - includes interactive advice and guidance from the citizen Advice Bureau and the Legal Service Commission) and JobCentre Plus with up to the minute jobs and opportunities available in Birmingham. The idTV channel currently attracts 195,000 hits per month.

Go to Channel 539 and press RED
Select Looking Local
Select Midlands and then Birmingham
