Digital Birmingham together with AWM, Digital Media COG and Projects in Motion ran a successful workshop bringing together potential local television broadcasters, operators and television channel creators and news gathering agencies to debate the opportunities on potential collaborations for local television in the West Midlands as well as contribute to a collective regional response to the DCMS consultation on Sustainable Independent News.

On behalf of Digital Birmingham, here is a collective response to the DCMS Consultation from the organisations involved (based in Birmingham and the West Midlands) that have an interest in establishing local television services to provide a voice for public service programming and information, meet the needs for community enrichment and offer acceptable entertainment programming to the communities and individuals in the West Midlands conurbation.

Although some of the organisations represented in the attached document response may respond individually and separately, there is a consensus view represented in this response.
