New figure for Digital Britain

It has been widely reported that Stephen Timms will take over from Stephen Carter as lead for Digital Britain.
Timms is currently a Treasury Minister - the Financial Secretary to the Treasury. But his experience is varied, including time as an e-commerce minister and party adviser for the Information Society Policy Forum.
Before he became a Government minister, he managed telecommunications report for tech analyst group Ovum and also spent time at Logica.
Timms will now be leading on the Digital Economy Bill, due to be released this autumn and pushing the broadband levy through the House of Parliament.
There will no doubt be more news articles on his progress to come.
