Business Transformation (BT) is about making fundamental changes to enable Birmingham City Council to deliver better services to its citizens. The aim is to radically improve services for Birmingham's citizens, to increase efficiency and become the preferred employer of choice, with better job satisfacton for employees.

The "BT Expo" as it became known internally, was a way for many people working within the City Council, other Local Authorities, strategic partners and stakeholders, the business community and Councillors to learn more about the programme and ask questions of the people delivering it.

The Expo took place between 2nd-4th March at the impressive venue that is the Council House in Victoria Square.

The first day was for Council officers to look around the 8 Business Transformation programme stands (source - BCC BT leaflet):

  • Children, Young People & Families Transformation - Brighter Futures: Transforming Children's Services aims to improve the health and well-being of Birmingham children and young people over a 5 year period.
  • Housing Transformation - providing a quality housing service that meets the needs of everyone in the city.
  • Customer First Transformation - Customer First is at the heart of Business Transformation for the people of Birmingham, helping the Council to provide world class standards of customer service.
  • Excellence in People Management (EPM) - EPM aims to transform the Council into an authority where people at all levels are free to use their talent, creativity, energy and commitment to serve the public and improve services.
  • Working for the Future (WFTF) - WFTF is transforming the Council's operational property portfolio to enable improvements in customer service delivery, offer new ways of working and enhance the work environment for employees.
  • Excellence in Information Management (EIM) - EIM will transform the way Birmingham City Council stores, shares and manages its wealth of information. This will enable the Council to use its information more effectively to deliver improved services to Birmingham's citizens.
