 | First Cabinet Meeting held outside London takes place in Birmingham Prime Minister, Gordon Brown brought his Cabinet to Birmingham for their first meeting outside the capital in decades on Monday 8th September 2008. The ICC was the chosen venue with its impressive facilities and city centre location. |

Each Secretary of State, along with the PM, went out and about and visited different businesses, projects and groups across the West Midlands. The meeting and subsequent visits were hailed a success, and once again Birmingham proves itself as a leading venue in the UK.
