Moseley-based digital marketing agency supports its peers
06/09/2009
LHM Media, a Moseley-based digital marketing agency, has launched a new website which will enable artists to promote themselves online and via mobile phones.
The new website is called Mobtal and is known as the 'portable art gallery'. It targets artisans, painters, photographers and sculptors and has taken over two years to successfully complete.
Mobtal already has 35 registered artists from around the world, including pop artists, wildlife artists and fine art photographers who cannot wait to use the new channel to publicise their work.
LHM Media managing director Ian Hughes said: "This is the first time a website has been set up giving artists the opportunity to sell their work in either a print form or as a direct download to mobile phones in the form of a screen saver or background.
"We know that in the UK there are more active mobile phones than there are people; mobile phones are everybody's entertainment channel. This is a really innovative concept which gives artists a new medium to tap into, which has hardly been touched before. It's very exciting and we're really proud of it." The Twitter profile for the site had 300 followers in the first week. It is already looking to expand to include video art on the website too.
