Our Digital Business campaign is launched
03/09/2009
Digital Birmingham's new Digital Business campaign was successfully launched, in partnership with the Birmingham Post and a cafe in the southern Birmingham district of Rubery. We have also enlisted the expertise of the award winning social media expert, Donato Esposito.
Cafe Licious is typical of the traditional cafe serving breakfast and lunches to hungry workers and local residents. Located near the former Rover works in Longbridge, the cafe is now looking to offer more than just good service along with its traditional English breakfasts.
The first stage of the six month campaign will introduce the cafe to Twitter and a blog to promote itself. You can follow the progress of the Digital Cafe, view their Twitter account at http://twitter.com/cafelicious. Also follow updates at the Digital Birmingham blog, and within the Enterprise pages of the Birmingham Post.
Donato explains his reasons for getting involved: "Cafes like this one are the cornerstone of communities like Rubery. Using social media is one way the cafe can widen its reach and find new customers. We'll be helping the cafe owners set up a blog and use tools like Twitter and Facebook to help it develop a loyal customer base. The aim is to create a virtual network around the cafe and turn them into loyal paying customers. It will show that it's not just City centre cafes that can develop new business through digital offering."
