Will 3D films keep the movies popular?
18/09/2009

Film piracy is a growing problem, more and more people are watching movies on illegal copies rather than going to the cinema or buying the DVD from a retail outlet.

However, 3D animators at Pixar (Disney's computer generation film company) have launched their new film "Up". This is obviously a new way of watching films, that has been used before - but is now becoming a more popular way of not only making movies but watching them too.

It has also had a positive effect on film piracy i.e. 3D films cannot be illegally copied. The true experience of 3D films can only really be felt in the movie theatre. Therefore, Pixar is expecting that their new film and the ones that follow may decrease the need for piracy.
