The Birmingham Digital Districts
Development of the next-generation of broadband infrastructure, capable of delivering the very fastest broadband services and other applications is a national priority for Europe and the UK and has been identified as a strategic priority for The Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership.
Birmingham is a world class city and investment in this high quality digital infrastructure is seen as an opportunity to enhance the City's productivity and international competitiveness. This is particularly true amongst those businesses identified as priority growth areas such as the creative industries and digital media, areas in which Birmingham is thriving with digital communities beginning to develop, particularly in and around the Digbeth, Eastside and Jewellery Quarter areas.
This city intends to do everything it can to create an environment that is supportive of growth, attractive for inward investment and nurtures creativity and one way in which it intends to do that is through the creation of the Birmingham Digital Districts Programme.
